June 24th, 2016: AURORA & her band played the historic Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm, Pilton UK!

Glastonbury Festival is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place near Pilton, Somerset.

In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theater, circus, cabaret, and other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas. [1]

The announcer following AURORA’s set said to the appreciative & cheering crowd  “I think one of the best performances we’ve ever had on the John Peel stage, AURORA!”

This brilliant performance can be seen (but in very poor quality) here at the time of this posting. If you MUST HAVE (most of us do) a top notch version, visit the “sources” links at the bottom of this page!

AURORA’s  music drifts between ethereal beauty to the energetic wrapping up with the exciting show-closer “Conqueror” – To be fully appreciated, AURORA must simply be seen live in concert because she’s a wonderful performer. Hailing from Norway, Aurora Aksnes is one of the best new artists of the last 2 or 3 years to arrive on the international scene. A singer-songwriter, AURORA has captured the hearts of 100’s of thousands of fans all over the world. One is hard pressed to even find a “not so good” live performance of AURORA and her marvelous band, as she has been AMAZING on her 2016/2017 tour, and there are many earlier brilliant live performances of the highest calibre to be found from 2014 and 2015 as well. Her 2016 (March) release of the  full-length album ALL MY DEMONS GREETING ME AS A FRIEND is a must have in every music collection. Visit and follow AURORA at her Twitter to get an idea of how personable, sweet, and brilliant this young woman is.

“Just watched entire #Glasto2016 @AURORAmusic ‘twas BRILLIANT, shamanistic, beautiful, inspiring, powerful, magical!” – GoddessofDawn

AURORA’s visit to Glastonbury 2016 is one of my favorite concerts. Appearing with AURORA were her touring band Magnus Skylstad (drums, producer) O. Martin (guitar, producer) Alf Lund Godbolt (keyboards) and Selma Frida Stang (synth & backing vocals).

So, what about GLASTONBURY 2017?

“Glastonbury 2017 will take place at Worthy Farm from 21st-25th June, 2017 (with the main stages open 23rd-25th June). Following the sales on 6th and 9th October, tickets Sold Out. But there will be a resale of any returned tickets in the spring. (says the Glastonbury site). – of course we have no idea yet (do we?) if AURORA might perform Glastonbury in 2017 or not.” – source: WarriorsWeirdos Forum (requires sign-in)
